Regular-season win totals have been available for quite some time now. Bettors can look at these numbers and decide which teams they believe will exceed the predetermined number or fall short of it. If a bettor thinks the line is way off, there are options to take alternative win totals, which would offer a better payout.

San Francisco 49ers | over 10.5 wins (-102)

The San Francisco 49ers are one of just six teams with a win total of 10 or more. Last season proved to be a challenging year for 49ers fans, as the team regressed significantly from its appearance in the Super Bowl the previous year. Fortunately, it wasn’t due to a regression in individual players’ talent; they were just plagued considerably by injuries.

One key statistic to consider when evaluating these numbers is the team’s record in games decided by seven points or fewer. Last season, the 49ers were 2-6 in those games. That’s not like a Kyle Shanahan-coached team. While they’ll start the season far from full-strength at the receiver position with Brandon Aiyuk and Jauan Jennings working to come back from injury, Christian McCaffrey looks to be back.

When healthy, he’s arguably the best running back in the NFL, and it could be argued that his importance to the team matches that of Saquon Barkley with Philadelphia and Derrick Henry with Baltimore. With McCaffrey back in the mix, expect the 49ers to return to form.

New England Patriots | over 8.5 wins (+100)

The New England Patriots were an abysmally poor unit last season, winning just two home games, one of which came in the final week of the season when they defeated the Buffalo Bills. As a result of that win, the Patriots no longer had the No. 1 pick and moved down to No. 4 overall.

They elected to fire Jerod Mayo and bring in a familiar face, Mike Vrabel, as the new head coach, and bring back Josh McDaniels for his third stint as offensive coordinator to help further develop second-year quarterback Drake Maye.

The Patriots have the third-easiest strength of schedule this season, which is likely why the line moved to its current number after initially opening at 7.5. While we’re getting a worse number, there’s value on the even odds or plus money if you can find it. While the Patriots may not contend for the division crown, they could very well find themselves in the playoff hunt down the stretch.

Jacksonville Jaguars | over 7.5 wins (-120)

The Jacksonville Jaguars made waves in the NFL Draft when they traded the No. 5 pick, their second-round pick, their fourth-round pick, and a 2026 first-round pick to the Cleveland Browns to move up to No. 2 to select two-way star Travis Hunter out of Colorado.

The Jaguars hired Liam Coen, the former offensive coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, to pair with quarterback Trevor Lawrence in hopes of a breakout season. After watching what Coen was able to do with Baker Mayfield and that Bucs offense, there are high hopes in Jacksonville.
