Washington State Cougars at Washington Huskies

September 6, 2026, 4:00 pm

Pick: Washington Huskies -23 (-106)

The Huskies enter the 2026 Apple Cup as the clearly superior team on paper. Washington returns star quarterback Demond Williams Jr. and is coming off a dominant 59-24 victory over Washington State in last season's meeting, scoring four unanswered touchdowns in the fourth quarter.
Washington State is breaking in Caden Pinnick at quarterback and faces a difficult task on the road in Seattle against a Washington defense that ranked among the nation's better units last season, allowing just 18.7 points per game.
The market is projecting a significant mismatch. Current odds sit around Washington -23.5, with implied scoring near 37-14, suggesting the Huskies are expected to control the game from start to finish.
Washington's advantages in quarterback play, roster depth, and overall talent should become more apparent as the game progresses. If the Huskies get an early lead, Washington State may struggle to consistently move the ball against a defense that has been one of the program's strengths.

Louisville Cardinals at Ole Miss Rebels

September 6, 2026, 7:30 pm

Pick: Louisville Cardinals 7 (-105)

Take #229 Louisville +7 Over Ole Miss

We like Louisville plus the points in this Sunday evening matchup at Nissan Stadium. This is simply too many points for a Cardinals team we believe is well coached and talented enough to keep this competitive.

Ole Miss enters the Pete Golding era with plenty of returning firepower. Trinidad Chambliss threw for 3,937 yards, 22 touchdowns, and just three interceptions last season, while Kewan Lacy returns after a monster 1,567-yard, 24-touchdown campaign. The Rebels also have weapons like Caleb Odom and Deuce Alexander, along with a veteran offensive line featuring 92 career starts.

But Louisville has quietly built a roster capable of making this a difficult game. Jeff Brohm did excellent work in the transfer portal, and Lincoln Kienholz brings legitimate dual-threat ability at quarterback. His mobility, combined with an excellent running back room led by Isaac Brown, could give Ole Miss problems.

That's particularly important because the Rebels allowed almost 150 rushing yards per game last season. If Louisville can establish the run and let Kienholz make plays outside the pocket, the Cardinals should be able to control enough of the game to stay within the number.

Louisville also rebuilt its receiving corps through the portal, adding weapons capable of giving Kienholz opportunities downfield.

Let's grab the points with the Cardinals.

Louisville Cardinals at Ole Miss Rebels

September 6, 2026, 7:30 pm

Pick: Louisville Cardinals 7 (-110)

Louisville +7 in Nashville is the side I want you holding. Not because Ole Miss is a mirage. Because 7 is too much juice to lay in a rented building before either offense has taken a real snap. Neutral site, ranked-on-ranked, first Sunday of the year. That is how hooks get fat.

You are not fading the Rebels to lose. You are fading them to win by more than a touchdown while both staffs are still installing. That is a different ticket. 27-24 Ole Miss cashes. 24-21 cashes. 23-20 Louisville is the gift. The moneyline is a dart. The number is the work. Public money will hammer the higher logo because it travels and it is on ABC. That is how plus-7 gets to the window looking like value instead of a prayer.

Do not buy this down to +6.5 and pay extra juice to sleep better. The 7 is the reason I am writing it. Sit on your hands. Let the first-game rust show up on both sidelines. If Ole Miss is up 14-0 at the half and still cannot punch the second one in, that hook starts earning its keep.

Bet Louisville plus the number as an underdog of 4.5 to 8.5 on a neutral site.
That spot since 2023: 11-6 (64.7%) with an average spread of +6.3. (+4.4 units, ROI=23.5%)

Bet the dog in Week 1 ranked-on-ranked games posted between 4.5 and 8.
That spot since 2022: 16-10 (61.5%) with an average spread of +6.1. (+4.8 units, ROI=16.8%)

Bet against a favorite of 6 to 7.5 in a neutral-site opener.
That spot since 2023: 18-11 (62.1%). (+5.7 units, ROI=17.9%)

If the Rebels hang 35, we tip the cap and move on. If this thing lives in the 20s, the points do what we paid them to do. That is the bet. Take the 7. Do not overthink the logo.

Wisconsin Badgers at Notre Dame Fighting Irish

September 6, 2026, 7:30 pm

Pick: Under 47 (-110)

This matchup sets up as a defensive battle more than an offensive showcase. Wisconsin averaged just 12.8 points per game last season and now enters Week 1 with a rebuilt offense, a transfer quarterback, and significant turnover up front. Facing a Notre Dame defense projected to be among the nation's best is a brutal opening assignment.
Notre Dame should move the ball, but the Irish don't need a track meet to win. With a defense capable of controlling field position and limiting explosive plays, the most likely script is Notre Dame building a lead and leaning on its ground game.
Several projections land right around this total, including 34-14 and implied scores in the 33-13 range.
The biggest hurdle for the Over is Wisconsin's offense. If the Badgers struggle to reach double digits against an elite defense, Notre Dame would need to do almost all the scoring themselves. In a season opener with conservative game management, that's a tough ask.

Louisville Cardinals at Ole Miss Rebels

September 6, 2026, 7:30 pm

Pick: Over 54.5 (-115)

This matchup has all the ingredients for an early-season shootout. Ole Miss returns one of the nation's most proven offensive cores, led by quarterback Trinidad Chambliss and running back Kewan Lacy, from a team that won 13 games and consistently generated explosive plays.
Louisville has questions at quarterback with Lincoln Kienholz taking over, but the Cardinals still possess elite playmaking ability, particularly with star running back Isaac Brown, giving them enough firepower to contribute their share of points.
Multiple analysts point toward the Over, citing tempo, offensive explosiveness, and the volatility that often comes with Week 1 matchups. Ole Miss can score quickly, and Louisville has the athleticism to answer.
The market total sits at 54.5, a number that can be cleared with both teams reaching the high 20s. With Ole Miss projected around 31-35 points and Louisville capable of pushing into the 24-28 range, the path to the Over is clear.

Cleveland Browns at Jacksonville Jaguars

September 13, 2026, 1:00 pm

Pick: Jacksonville Jaguars -7.5 (-110)

Looking at ATS last season:

Jags were 1st in the League as Home Favorites at 4-1(80%)
Browns were LAST in the League as Away Underdogs at 2-5(28.6%)

The Browns honestly are still in shambles and are even worse now without Myles Garrett… Trevor Lawrence and Co. should handle business here easily. Give me the Jags to cover a 7.5 spread to open the season!

Ight Bet!
