We’re two weeks into the 2025 NFL season. Oftentimes, it’s still too early to distinguish between the outstanding teams and the frauds. Whether it’s due to luck, scheduling, or injuries, there’s likely a reason for where a team is at this point. The only question is, will that streak, good or bad, continue? Here, we’re going to give our NFL Week 2 reaction, dive in, and take a look at which team in the NFL is the worst team to start 2-0 and the best team to start 0-2. Let’s see if you agree.

Worst 2-0 Team

There are plenty of candidates up for consideration. One team in particular is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. While they’ve started 2-0, their offense looks far and away from what it was under former offensive coordinator, now Jacksonville Jaguars head coach, Liam Coen. In 2024, the Bucs averaged 29.5 points per game. This season, the Bucs are averaging 21.5 points per game, albeit without Chris Godwin at receiver and Tristan Wirfs on the offensive line. They’ve needed consecutive fourth-quarter comebacks against the Atlanta Falcons and Houston Texans, both of which have looked to be far from juggernauts this season.

Also up for debate is the Arizona Cardinals among our NFL Week 2 reaction. They’re 2-0, but have faced lowly competition, narrowly scraping out wins against the New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers, two teams that will likely be at the bottom of the NFC South when it’s all said and done. But beware, the Cardinals have been known to get off to hot starts and fade as the season goes along.

But the team we’re identifying as the worst 2-0 team is the Cincinnati Bengals. Even before the turf toe injury to Joe Burrow that will likely have him sidelined for three months after electing for surgery, the Bengals looked far from polished. In Week 1 against the Cleveland Browns, the Bengals were held to just seven (7!) total yards in the second half, but still pulled off a 17-16 win against a Browns team that’s looked far from inspired. They pulled out a Week 2 win against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but needed key interceptions from Trevor Lawrence to do so. Kudos to Jake Browning for leading them to a comeback win, but you can’t expect them to keep this up.

Best 0-2 Team

One could look at the 0-2 teams and believe that the Houston Texans are the team that is deserving of the best winless teams, and nobody would really blame you. While C.J. Stroud hasn’t appeared to play at the level he did in his rookie season, when he led the Texans to the playoffs, there’s still reason for optimism. They were up late against the Bucs before surrendering a touchdown with just seconds on the clock in Week 2, and were in a tough battle against the also 2-0 Los Angeles Rams. Although the loss to the Bucs may not be decisive, the Rams will likely remain contenders for their division for the remainder of the season.

This likely won’t come as a shock, but it’s hard to look at the winless teams and identify any other team than the Kansas City Chiefs as the best 0-2 team. They came into the season off a humiliating loss in the Super Bowl to the Philadelphia Eagles, but held their own in the rematch in Week 2. In fact, if not for a pass off Kelce’s hands that resulted in an interception at the goal line early in the fourth quarter, the Chiefs might not have even been on this list. Still, the fact of the matter is that they’re 0-2, but brighter days are likely ahead. Xavier Worthy is on track to play in Week 3, but with a torn labrum in a harness. The team missed his explosiveness in both games. On top of that, they’ll have Rashee Rice back in Week 7 with plenty of time to make a playoff push.
