Winners of eight of their last 10 outings, the Arizona Diamondbacks are playing some good baseball, rising into the second spot in the National League West. They possess an offense that has been absolutely explosive, and a pitching staff that has been stable. To say they have dominated the St. Louis Cardinals would be an understatement. The Diamondbacks have taken four of six meetings this season, and going back a bit seven of the last nine overall matchups. Speaking of the Cardinals, they are struggling, dropping four of their last five to sink into a tie for third place with the Pirates in the Central division at 52-49. Brandon Pfaadt and Michael McGreevy are slated here today. Arizona right-hander has been solid earning a 4-1 record as the team has won six of his seven turns in 2026. Over his last three outings he has been perfect going 3-0 with an anemic ERA of 1.72. In one of those outings, he shut down this very same St. Louis opponent going 5.1 strong innings and only allowing two earned runs. The Cardinals right-hander is 4-7. But does own a nice ERA of 2.92. He threw well against todays opponent back on July 17. But earned a no decision. He’s actually pitched quite well on his last four outings, and is pretty good at home. But I just don’t like the matchup here as the Arizona Diamondbacks have certainly dominated the St. Louis Cardinals. Take Arizona. Thank you.
