The 2025 Heisman Trophy odds have undergone significant changes since oddsmakers released them before the season. Some players have come out of nowhere, while others have yet to live up to their preseason billing. We’re starting to get a feel for these teams ahead of Week 3, and the odds have adjusted as such.

Week 2 of the college football schedule, while not as loaded with top matchups, still brought plenty of entertainment and intensity. As we prepare to head into Week 3, we’ll update you on the 2025 Heisman Trophy odds and who has the most to gain or lose this Saturday.

John Mateer, Oklahoma

Oklahoma Sooners quarterback John Mateer was one of the biggest risers following his Week 1 performance against Illinois State. In Week 2, he faced a more challenging task when the Sooners hosted the No. 15 Michigan Wolverines. While it wasn’t his 392-yard four-touchdown performance, he was the difference maker for the Sooners in Norman, throwing a touchdown and rushing for another two, while serving as Oklahoma’s leading rusher.

We covered Mateer’s 2025 Heisman Trophy odds last week, suggesting throwing some money on Mateer, as it would likely be the last time we could’ve gotten action on him above +1000. Entering Week 3, the best price for Mateer is exactly +1000 on FanDuel, but as low as +800 on BetMGM.

Devon Dampier, Utah

Utah quarterback Devon Dampier came into the season with 2025 Heisman Trophy odds of +5000. Those odds were cut almost in half to +2750 after a 43-10 win against former Pac-12 rival UCLA. He went 21-for-25 for 206 yards and two touchdowns. He added 87 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

In Week 2, he threw three touchdowns in a 63-9 shellacking of Cal Poly. As a result, Dampier is now +1900. Dampier could end up with a nice resume on paper when the season is said and done, but the Utes’ college football schedule doesn’t lend many opportunities for him to have a “Heisman moment.”

Tommy Castellanos, Florida State

Tommy Castellanos came to Tallahassee after two seasons at Boston College and a year at Central Florida. In what was perhaps the biggest shock of the Week 1 college football slate, Castellanos helped the Seminoles take down the Alabama Crimson Tide.

He entered the season with +12500 odds and moved to +3000 following the win. After a convincing win against East Texas A&M in which he threw for three touchdowns, his odds moved to +2500 if you’re a believer in the Seminoles.

Cade Klubnik, Clemson

Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik was among the biggest fallers after a lackluster Week 1 performance against the LSU Tigers. Many thought that Clemson would bounce back and show their dominance against Troy in Week 2. However, that’s not what happened, as Clemson trailed late.

Klubnik made some big plays for Clemson, but the Tigers benefited from two Troy turnovers in their own half of the field. As a result, Klubnik has seen his odds fall even further, from +1600 to +2500. Things may turn around offensively for the Tigers once Antonio Williams returns, but even that wouldn’t be enough to get Klubnik back into serious contention.

DJ Lagway, Florida

Florida quarterback DJ Lagway entered with 2025 Heisman Trophy odds of +1900. After taking over for Graham Mertz last season, Lagway helped lead the Gators to impressive wins against LSU, Ole Miss, and at their rival Florida State before a win over Tulane in the Gasparilla Bowl.

However, things might not be looking up for the Gators after a last-second walk-off field goal against USF. As a result, Lagway has seen his 2025 Heisman Trophy odds free-fall all the way down to +5000 on FanDuel. Lagway will likely be a serious candidate for the award next year, but the brakes should be pumped in Gainesville.
