Maybe the odds makers know something we don’t. Maybe they’re looking to trap us. My friends, I’ve been doing this for nearly 50 years, and I just don’t understand the line in the Senators/Blackhawks matchup. Chicago has dominated Ottawa, taking eight of the last 10 meetings, which includes four of the five games played at home during that span. Ottawa will come in here a little tired, following last night’s 7-2 victory at home against Boston. They now travel to Chicago where their opponent has had a few days to rest and prepare for this matchup. They have dropped two of their last three games played as a visitor, and have a defense ranking amongst the worse in the NHL, ranking 29th in goals allowed, getting plowed for over 3.9 goals per game. While the Chicago offense leaves a lot to be desired, ranking 22nd in scoring, and posting just 2.9 GPG, they do possess one heck of a defense/goaltending unit. The Blackhawks rank sixth in the NHL, yielding just 2.4 GPG. Yes, the Senators are scoring more goals, but going up against this goaltending core, will be a problem for them. On the flipside, the Chicago lackluster offense, will certainly increase their statistics here tonight. Take the Blackhawks. Thank you.
