NHL – FREE PLAY: Mammoth (53) vs. Blues (54)

This is a solid bounce back spot for the St. Louis Blues tonight as they host the surging Utah Mammoth. St. Louis is coming off a 2-1 OT loss at home against Los Angeles and the early season inconsistency of this team has irked head coach Jim Montgomery to the point where he called out his squad after the loss saying they needed to demand more of themselves: “We’re going through the exact same thing as last January. And we’re going to have to get it changed. We’re going to have to go to work all together. That’s how you gain consistency is through communication. It’s by players holding players accountable, coaches holding players accountable, players holding coaches accountable. We’re not getting the job done right now with our consistency, with effort and execution. We have to demand more of each other.” Utah is rolling and playing some very good hockey at 5-1 in their last six games and are coming off a perfect 4-0 homestand at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City notching wins against Calgary, San Jose, Boston and a big time OT victory against Colorado in their last game. That being said, Utah is only 1-2 in their three previous road games and they are heading to St. Louis against a Blues team that should be focused and dialed in tonight and a Blues squad that has not lost consecutive games yet this season which they will be looking to avoid once again tonight. The price is very reasonable here and I’m on St. Louis as a short home favorite to get back in the win column and cool off the red hot Utah Mammoth.
