If this line would be just a tad bit lower, I would’ve released it as a premium play. One of the better teams in the AAC, takes on the worst team in the conference. North Texas sports a 6-1 straight up record, covering five of their seven outings this season, while Charlotte is just 1-6 SU, and has only covered two of their seven contests. The Mean Green are just that, Mean, Mean, Mean. They are perfect on the road this season, and have covered six of the last eight overall games, possessing the number one, that’s right the top-scoring offense in college football, averaging over 45.0 points per game. They are equally good in the air as they are on the ground. That would be enough for me here because their opponent ranks 127th on defense, getting steamrolled for over 34.9 points per game. This is a defense that is not feared in any way. They have grabbed just two turnovers this season. They are horrible against the rush, one of the worst in college football. They go up against one of the best running teams out there. But they will get beaten in the air as well as North Texas and their gunslinging quarterback, Mestemaker, who has tallied 17 touchdowns with just three interceptions, for 1,860 yards passing, and a 66.7% completion rate, will absolutely light up the scoreboard here. Defensively, I doubt very much UNT is worried. They enter this matchup with a solid stop-unit. They line up across the 129th ranked scoring offense of the 49ers, which post a dismal 17.1 PPG. Oh, by the way, they’ve also committed 16 turnovers. As I mentioned at the beginning of this breakdown, if this line would have been a tad bit lower, I would’ve put it out as a premium play.
