My friends, I know a lot of these Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday games aren’t consisting of marquee matchups. But don’t overlook them. I promise you there’s money to be made in some of these contests. One such contest is tonight in conference USA play at Missouri State takes on New Mexico State. Both teams are 3-3 overall on the campaign, and both have covered three of their six outings. The Bears are 2-1 straight up on the road, but have only covered one of their three road games. The Aggies are 3-0 at home this season straight up, going 2-1 ATS. Missouri State does come off a full bye week, having not taken the field since October 8. However, New Mexico State has had an extra day to rest and prepare for this matchup, as they played their last game on October 14. That was an interesting matchup, and again they did cover as a double-digit underdog, dropping a heartbreaker on the road at Liberty, 30-27. What is interesting about that matchup is the Aggies found their running game. They struggled a bit this season trying to rush the ball. The Bears defense is absolutely deplorable with some of the ugliest numbers in the nation, including points allowed, in which they rank 107th, giving up 29.7 PPG. Their defense also fails to create turnovers. They are equally bad against the rush as they are against the pass. I think they’re going to have a lot of trouble here lining up across from an explosive passing attack of New Mexico State. On the flipside, the NMSU defense is adequate. They are solid against the pass, which is their opponents only offensive strength. They also allow less points. Oh, and by the way, they snagged seven turnovers already. As I mentioned at the beginning of this breakdown, it doesn’t have to be a marquee matchup for us to make money in it. But I do think we can do just that tonight by taking the New Mexico State Aggies. Thank you.
