No excuses for SMU to get upset by Wake Forest, 13-12, on the road last week. The Mustangs may have got caught peeking ahead to this home matchup.
SMU coach Rhett Lashlee has been pointing to this game all season. He was Miami’s offensive coordinator before coming to SMU. It’s the first time his Mustangs are playing the Hurricanes. Many of Lashlee’s assistants came with him from Miami.
Not only is this a huge ACC game, but also it’s big for recruiting purposes.
SMU’s defense is much improved and the Mustangs have a good quarterback in Kevin Jennings.
Miami hasn’t left the state of Florida until now. Hurricanes coach Mario Cristobal has a knack for not covering point spreads. Miami is 1-5 ATS as a road favorite of more than a touchdown in the last six instances.
I find added line value, too, for SMU following its loss to Wake Forest.
