Florida State and Virginia are a combined 7-0 to the Over this season in their games and both offenses should have success in this game as they face one another in ACC action. The Seminoles offense led by QB Tommy Castellanos has a 71% completion rate with significant improvement in the passing game from him and FSU is averaging a staggering 8.9 yards per play this season and they face a very leaky Virginia defense surrendering 5.4 yards per play and that is against a slate of opponents that isn’t as good offensively as what they will see here in this game. Florida State scored 31 points against Alabama in their opener and should be able to match or eclipse that scoring output here against a struggling UVA defense. On the flip side, Virginia’s offense is much improved with the addition of transfer QB Chandler Morris who has gotten off to a great start with a 70% completion rate and an 8-1 TD-INT ratio. The Cavaliers have a very balanced attack ranked in the Top 20 in the country in rushing yards per game with 251.5 per game on the ground and passing yards per game with 313 passing yards per game through the air. That offensive balance is primed to give Florida State’s defense a test as the Seminoles have only played one team with a good offense this season and that was Alabama and this time they must go on the road for the first time this season and face a Virginia offense scoring 48, 31, 55 and 48 points in their first four games. Look for this game on Friday night to soar Over the total.
Pick: Florida State/Virginia Over 59.5 -115
