The general public is all over the home team here, my friends. And why not? They come into tonight’s matchup, winning their last two games. The visitor, who did have an extra day off to rest and prepare for this contest, dropped three of their last four outings, including a split on both away games played during that span. I really do feel the oddsmakers are giving the Bears a little too much credit here. Both teams score about the same, as both units have also turned the ball over 11 times. While Missouri States offense is decent in the air, the FIU “O” is dominant on the ground. Both defenses are weak in both of those areas. Being that the Panthers run the ball with such success, I feel they will control the tempo and the clock in this matchup, and move the chains on the ground, keeping their opponents defense on the field, and their offense off of it. I doubt very much Florida International is going to make a run at the conference. They have a tough remaining regular season schedule, and are just 1-2 in league play. Because of this, they will go all out here tonight. Missouri State is 2-1 in C USA action, but has Liberty, UTEP, Kennesaw State, and Louisiana Tech all remaining. Their next opponent, the Flames are going to be a tough foe, so, they might be in a “look ahead” situation, and then the game against the Owls, the winningest team in C USA this season, is going to be a very difficult contest. As I mentioned a moment ago, they might be in a “look ahead” mode, or maybe might even be in a “letdown” situation, but I do think it’ll be a lot closer of a game than the points spread.
