Arkansas State has historically been quite good in the underdog role and they are coming off an impressive win against Texas State as double digit underdogs. The Red Wolves will face a South Alabama Jaguars team that has been routinely overvalued against the pointspread going 0-3 ATS as favorites so far this season. The Arkansas State offense is always capable of scoring late in the game if they are facing a deficit as that side of the football is the strength of this team led by QB Jaylen Raynor. He threw for 345 passing yards and had plenty of aerial success in last year’s meeting against this South Alabama defense. It’s worth noting that we have seen close games decided by a TD or less in each of the last two seasons between Arkansas State and South Alabama and that to me makes this a few too many points to be offering to this Arkansas State squad. I’ll take the points with the Arkansas State Red Wolves and expect a competitive game in Tuesday night Sun Belt action.
