Normally, I don’t like to lay a price this high. But this game is a clear exception.
The Dodgers have won nine in a row. They have Yoshinobu Yamamoto today against a clearly declining Aaron Nola.
Yamamoto could be the second-best pitcher in the National League behind only Paul Skenes. Yamamoto finished second to Skenes in ERA at 2.49 and tied for the second lowest WHIP at 0.99. Yamamoto has allowed only three earned runs in his last six starts spanning 40 2/3 innings.
The Phillies failed to win either of their playoff games in Philadelphia against the Dodgers. I certainly don’t see them doing it here in LA for this Game 3. Not with Nola, who is 5-10 with a 6.01 ERA and hasn’t pitched since Sept. 26. Nola’s career ERA against the Dodgers is 4.31.
