The Buffalo Bulls enter the second season under head coach Pete Lembo who turned the program around last year going 9-4 overall and 6-2 in MAC play after a 3-9 season two years ago. 16 starters return for Buffalo and new starting QB Ta’Quan Roberson brings a dual threat element and plenty of experience to the position after being at UConn and Kansas State previously. Buffalo should have a strong ground game with Al-Jay Henderson at RB behind an experienced offensive line and there are several good options at wide receiver including Nik McMillan and Victor Snow. The defense has 10 starters back with experience and quality along all three levels. Minnesota has a new starting QB Drake Lindsey and they will rely heavily on the ground game with Darius Taylor but there is some concern on the offensive line with three new starters and Buffalo’s defensive front could prevent those explosive runs leading to longer possessions for the Gophers offense. This is a big margin that Minnesota needs to achieve in order to cover the number and I expect them to fall short of doing so with Buffalo hanging inside this double digit spread.
