The Indiana Hoosiers made a habit of piling up the points and running up the score in their non-conference schedule last season scoring 31, 77 and 52 points in those games and I have very little doubt they will look to do the same this season. Indiana has a new starting QB but Fernando Mendoza the transfer from Cal should not prove to be much of a drop-off at all from the departed Kurtis Rourke. Mendoza threw for over 3,000 passing yards last season and has a very good offensive line. Old Dominion struggled on defense last season allowing 28 points per game so Indiana should have success moving the football and scoring points. Indiana’s defense does have holes to fill and new faces on all three levels and must face a very talented Group Of 5 conference QB in Colton Joseph for ODU who is a dual threat. The Monarchs offense hit their stride once Joseph became the starting QB last season scoring at least 20 points in each of their last 8 games after he took over under center. Old Dominion with their uptempo offense (Top 20 in pace last season at 23.7 seconds per play) should be able to contribute to the scoring and I think we see this game reach at least the mid to high 50’s in points sending it Over the total.
