The Oilers have superstars Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, but can’t overcome their poor defense and goaltending. This is especially so on the road where Edmonton has dropped seven of its last eight, . including the past four games.

Edmonton’s offense hasn’t been dynamic either on the road. The Oilers have yet to score more than three goals in a game when they are not home.

After getting clobbered by the Avalanche, 9-1, the Oilers managed to sneak past the Blue Jackets, 5-4 in overtime, two days ago at home. Now they go on their longest road trip of the season, seven consecutive away games starting here against the Flyers.

Not only do the Flyers have home ice, but they are the far more rested team having last played on Saturday. If the playoffs started now, the Flyers would be a wild-card team. They have the defense to frustrate the Oilers ranking sixth in fewest goals allowed per game and having the fourth-best penalty killing unit.
