Cal at Oregon State (Sat 8/30, 10:30p ET)
Two former PAC-12 foes battle to start the 2025 season as the Golden Bears of California head up to Corvallis to battle Oregon State. The Cal Bears have been through some struggles since heading East (from a Conference perspective) to the ACC. With the program hiring former NFL great Ron Rivera as General Manager, things have become strained in Berkeley, and Head Coach Justin Wilcox’s seat is hotter than temperatures in the Mojave. With several key players transferring out of the program between spring and now, it will be a long season for Cal.
Oregon State is looking to improve on their success last year, missing out on a bowl game bid by one victory. Head Coach Trent Bray will navigate his club through another tough schedule as an independent with new QB Maalik Murphy, a 6’5″ transfer previously with Texas and Duke, who threw for nearly 3,000 yards and 26 Touchdowns last season with the Blue Devils.
I like the Beavers to get revenge for last year’s 44-9 loss to the Bears and pick up victory number one on the year in a big way. Lay the points with Oregon State on Saturday night. #FreePlays
Play On: (#222) Oregon State (-1.5 -110)
