The Jacksonville Jaguars should be an improved offense this season under the guidance of new head coach Liam Coen who did a fine job working with QB Baker Mayfield in Tampa Bay as offensive coordinator of the Bucs and is now primed to take QB Trevor Lawrence and a Jaguars offense that sputtered last season to another level. It was a good first step last week for the Jacksonville offense scoring 26 points while racking up 378 total yards with great balance of 200 yards through the air and 178 yards on the ground led by Travis Etienne. The Cincinnati defense looked better in its first game of the season under new defensive coordinator Al Golden than the dreadful group they were last season but they faced a limited Cleveland Browns offense. This should be a much tougher challenge. If you listened to Cincinnati QB Joe Burrow after the win last week, you would have thought they lost the game as he expressed displeasure in the offensive struggles for the Bengals. He was not happy about his team’s lack of execution and production on offense in the second half registering only a field goal. Burrow had just 113 passing yards and the Bengals had just 46 yards on the ground. The Cincinnati offense is too good to have consecutive weeks like that and I am not sold on the Jaguars defense just because they shut down an erratic QB in Bryce Young and the Carolina Panthers offense last week. I think both offenses do their share of scoring to send this game Over the total.
