The Eastern Michigan Eagles are already in the running for being the worst defense in FBS College Football this season. EMU has been shredded on defense allowing 542 total yards per game and 8 yards per play. The Eagles defense has been at their worst against the run where they have surrendered 311.5 rushing yards per game and a horrific 7.4 yards per rush allowed. Kentucky might just be able to hand the football off throughout this game an lean on a terrible Eastern Michigan run defense that has simply been gashed repeatedly in their first two games against Texas State and their stunning loss to Long Island last week as 22.5 point favorites. Kentucky QB Zach Calzada is out due to injury but he isn’t that great and the downgrade from him to Cutter Boley who will get the start in this game for the Wildcats is minimal. This is about Kentucky’s run game being able to overwhelm a putrid EMU defense. On the flip side, Eastern Michigan can be expected to move the football a bit in this game with Michigan State transfer QB Noah Kim who is completing 65.1% of his passes with a 3-0 TD-INT ratio. The Kentucky secondary is the weak link on their defense which Eastern Michigan is capable of exploiting enough to find their way to scoring some points as well. I have this game landing in the 50’s in total points scored providing plenty of value and wiggle room for this game to soar up and Over the total.
Pick: Eastern Michigan/Kentucky Over 46.5 -110
