It’s true, the Chicago Cubs have lost three in a row to sink to 7.5-games back in the NL Central division. But are currently are on the right side of the Wildcard cut line. They face a very disappointing Atlanta Braves opponent, which have basically no shot at the postseason. Chicago must win here, and keep their foot in the gas if they want to at least earn a Wildcard spot, and possibly still take the division. One thing they have done better this season than in previous seasons, is play on the road. The Cubs are currently 37-35 as a visitor in 2025. Both, at the plate, and on the mound, statistically they own better numbers than the Brave. Speaking of pitching, Cade Horton and Spencer Strider are scheduled today. The Cubs right-hander is 9-4 with a very respectful ERA of 2.78 this season, as the team has won 12 of his 19 outings. The Braves right-hand is 5-12 on the campaign with a 4.97 ERA, with the team dropping 14 of his 19 appearances. There is a little more stability with the road pitcher here, and the Cubs do need this victory to better their situations for the postseason. Thank you.
Pick: Chicago Cubs -105
