As bad as the winless Jets are, they shouldn’t be a home underdog to the Panthers.
Carolina is 0-3 SU, 1-2 ATS on the road this season. The Panthers are 1-8 in their last nine away games going back to last season.
I understand it’s hard to get behind the Jets, especially since Garrett Wilson isn’t likely to play. But the Jets would be looking a lot better if some of the close games they were involved in had turned their way. New York has lost three games by two points each. Those defeats were to the Broncos, Buccaneers and Steelers. The combined record of these three teams is 13-5.
Justin Fields is a much more dangerous dual threat quarterback than he showed against the elite Broncos defense last week. The Panthers’ defense is a huge step down. Fields has yet to throw an interception while Carolina QB Bryce Young has been picked off five times.
Rico Dowdle is all the rage now coming off two monster games in a row. I would take Breece Hall over him in a heartbeat, though.
The Jets are overdue for a win. That opportunity comes here as a home ‘dog value play against an inferior opponent.
