The NHL season finally drops tonight – and tomorrow we get our first “TNT Wednesday” doubleheader. I don’t know about you, but the Wednesday crew always brings elite energy. Here’s hoping that carries right onto the ice in D.C.
Let’s talk Bruins vs. Capitals: total’s sitting around 5.5, and I’m expecting some offense. These teams have a history of lighting it up when they meet – 7 of their last 10 matchups have seen 6+ goals, including a couple of wild ones like the 7–3 Boston win in 2023 and the 6–3 Washington response the following season.
Boston, while certainly taking a step last year, still has plenty of firepower with Pastrňák, Zacha, and while Washington’s big guns (Ovechkin, Wilson, and Carlson) can make any power play feel like an auto goal. Both clubs are coming in with questions on the blue line, which only helps our case for goals.
Bottom line: we could see the red light working overtime in this one. Goals early, goals often – and maybe a few TNT-style explosions to kick off Wednesday night hockey on TNT. I am very happy that hockey is BACK!
