NCAAF – FREE PLAY: Vanderbilt (375) vs. Alabama (376)

Well, it’s go time in Tuscaloosa. Everyone remembers what went down last year—a shocking Vanderbilt upset in a shootout that left Bama fans wondering if they’d wandered into the Twilight Zone.

Fast forward to this year: Vandy’s 5-0 and sitting at No. 16 in the polls. So while another win over Bama wouldn’t exactly rock the sports universe like last time, it would still turn some heads. The Commodores are lighting up the scoreboard, averaging 49 points per game (that’s second in the SEC and top 10 nationally). Sure, they haven’t exactly run through a gauntlet of heavyweights yet, but respectable wins stack up all the same.

Meanwhile, Alabama at home is a different animal.  They have 111 points at home this year through two games, granted one was over Louisiana – Monroe. They’re still top 25 nationally in offense themselves, and with the embarrassment of last year fresh in their memory, it’s safe to say Bama’s not coming in with half measures.

The lean? I think Bama takes care of business, but with these two offenses ranked top 26 nationally and both putting up fireworks, the over looks more like a buffet line than a gamble. We’ll roll with the points in Bama Land.
