I will be on the OVER in this game. What a difference a couple of weeks make. After week one most pundits were writing the Lions off and saying there was no way Goff can win without McVay or Johnson. SAME OLD LIONS, and to be fair I had a few doubts. But Two weeks, 90 points and 937 yards later the Lions are the talk of the town once again. Granted the Bears defense is a little iffy with injuries in the secondary and the Ravens defense is not the Ravens defense of lore but Detroit two things they did not do in that week one loss to Green Bay and that is protect Goff and run the ball. Granted the Browns have the best defense after three weeks but they will be tested by a lions offense that has a ton of weapons in Goff, Sonic and knuckles, amon Ra st Brown Jameson williams and Laporte to give any defense problems. The browns offense is nothing to write home about and with the way the Lions defense bottled up lamar Jackson recording seven sacks, they could have a huge day against an immobile Flacco. Flacco has been intercepted four times this season while throwing for 631 yards and two touchdowns. He has been unable to ignite a Browns offense that ranks 30th in scoring. One key factor to take into account when looking at the total is that this game will be played indoors at Ford Field. Now If this game was outdoors in Cleveland the UNDER could have been in play. The knock on Goff is he is not great outdoors but did look pretty good Monday night. Let’s take a look at some trends. Of Cleveland’s last 21 ROAD games 16 have gone over the number. Detroit has gone 19-5-1 to the over at home the last seven years when the line was set at 52 or fewer. Cleveland is 3-0 to the over when their opponent is coming off a Monday night game. Four of their last five games have gone over when playing a non conference road game. Detroit is 8-1 to the over when favored by 8 points or more. They have gone over in nine of 11 games after a Monday night game but they have gone under four straight times coming off a game with Baltimore. Now to the play. I am going to play over in this one. Detroit has gone over in seven of their last ten games. The offense plays better at home and indoors. As good as Clevelands defense has been, they have not faced a team with as many weapons as the Lions. The Lions seem to have the offensive line figured out after the week one disaster. My only worry is will the Browns help to put this game over the number. If anything they will score late in garbage time to help push this game over. It may not be easy but it will be a winner.
Play. Go OVER 44 or 44.5 -110
