I will be on the UNDER in the Mets-Nationals game. The New York Mets are 79-74 this season.  New York has turned things around, winning three of their last four. They have a team ERA of 4.00 with a 1.33 WHIP. Brandon Sproat gets the start. He is 0-1 with a 2.25 ERA and a 1.08 WHIP in 12.0 innings. The Washington Nationals are 62-91. Washington has lost seven of their last nine games. They have a team ERA of 5.33 with a 1.44 WHIP. Andrew Alvarez gets the start for the Nats. He is 1-0 with a 1.15 ERA and a 0.83 WHIP in 15.2 innings pitched this year. The Mets have won their last 10 home games against the Nationals. The Mets are 48-30 at home this year, while the Nationals are 31-44 on the road. The Mets are still battling for a Wild Card spot. Washington’s pitching was atrocious against the Mets, allowing 31 runs in their last four games. Alvarez has allowed a total of two earned runs over 15.2 innings this year. Sproat has allowed three earned runs over 12.0 innings. As long as the bullpens can keep it together late, I am going with the under as both starters should limit the opposition’s offense.
