This is a play on the CHICAGO BEARS for our Sunday Free Play. Monday night was a disaster for the Bears and their backers, yes including us, as they were looking good with a 17-6 lead with 12 minutes left but Minnesota ran off 21 straight points with J.J. McCarthy looking like a completely different quarterback after three quarters. Conversely, Caleb Williams did as well as he got off to a great start and then it fell apart late against an aggressive Minnesota defense. He likely will not see that here as the Lions pass defense ranked No. 31 week in adjusted net yards per attempt allowed as they only pressured Jordan Love at a 26 percent clip which was No. 28. The Lions were exposed last week and are a huge public favorite this week expecting a bounce back. Detroit had an exceptional season as it went 15-2 and clinched home field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs while getting the coveted bye. Both losses were at home against Tampa Bay by four points and against Buffalo by six points but it did the Lions little good as they welcomed Washington and while they held a 14-10 lead midway through the second quarter, they squandered that lead and never got it back. They lost out on this golden opportunity and then ended up losing offensive coordinator Ben Johnson and defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn which is rare for a team to lose both in the same season. Teams to blow a double-digit lead in Week One are 30-19 straight up and 29-19-1 ATS in Week Two since 1990 (Baltimore also qualifies in this situation but we are not laying that number).
