Tanner Bibee and Shane Baz have been two of the most disappointing pitchers in the American League this season. They go against each other today and I’m expecting each team to score at least four runs, which would put this game Over the total.
The Rays have scored at least four runs in seven of their last eight games. Now they get Bibee, who has a 4.77 ERA , a 1.31 WHIP and a career-worst 1.5 home runs allowed per nine innings. Bibee has a 5.64 ERA on the road and Tampa Bay’s minor league ballpark is a hitter’s venue.
Baez has a 4.98 ERA and 1.34 WHIP. That ERA balloons to 6.47 when he pitches at home.
The Guardians have been swinging hot bats, scoring at least seven runs in three of their last four games.
Neither starting pitcher is in good form. Bibee has a 5.88 ERA in his last five starts, while Baez has a 5.90 ERA during his past five outings.
