This is a play on the EAST CAROLINA PIRATES for our Saturday Free Play. BYU is off to a 2-0 start with wins over Portland St. of the FCS and Stanford, the worst team in the ACC, so the Cougars have yet to be tested. They are coming off their first of two byes which helps but this is still a tricky spot where they have to head cross country in a nonconference game with their Big 12 Conference opener on deck at Colorado next week. The transfer of quarterback Jake Retzlaff left a void and freshman Bear Bachmeier was named the starter and while he has looked good this will be first road start. East Carolina is 2-1 as it dropped its opener against NC State and has won two straight games since then, a blowout of Campbell of the FCS and a 38-0 shutout over Coastal Carolina. The Pirates gave up 239 total yards and allowed Coastal Carolina in the redzone only once as they forced five turnovers, five punts and a missed field goal. The East Carolina offense struggled early as it got inside the Chanticleers redzone four times in the first half but came away with only 10 points. The Pirates backed it up with four second half touchdowns and overall they finished with 497 total yards. Great spot a live underdog in Greenville this week.
