It’s been a bumpy road for the Capitals as of late. After winning six of their first eight games, they’re now on a four game losing streak, and have only scored five goals during that stretch. The Blues just snapped a seven-game losing streak against the Oilers, but needed two late goals in the 3rd period and overtime to get over the hump. It was a nice win, but the Blues have looked pitiful in most of their games this season. I think this is an excellent bounce-back spot for the Caps. They are the stingiest team in the league in terms of goals allowed (St. Louis ranks 21st in scoring), while the Blues are allowing a league-worst 4 goals per game. Washington is only potting 2.58 goals per game, but both Jordan Binnington & Joel Hofer have Goals Against Averages north of 3.00 (5.16 in Hofer’s case) and sub .870 save percentages. If Logan Thompson starts in-net for Washington it’s a huge advantage, but I think they’ll cover the puckline here no matter who they start.
